Margie

Margie was most-likely born in 1998. She is an American Quarter Horse. She was saved from slaughter when HiCaliber purchased her from Ontario Auction on November 22, 2016. In 2018, when HiCaliber announced they were closing, she was one of many unrideable horses (AKA “companion horses” or “pasture puffs”) that desperately needed to find a safe landing. Margie arrived at the ranch on December 2, 2018.

Margie has several arthritic joints. Unfortunately, she does not do well on nsaids, so we have not been able to keep her on Equioxx long-term. In spite of this she remains comfortable on a daily basis. We sedate her and provide pain medication for farrier work.

Margie is a sweet mare that love attention from our volunteers, but she also thrives with equine companions. She is currently living with Scampi and Rocky, and enjoying retirement.
