In October 2020, a local Rescue and Therapy Center made the difficult decision to downsize following the loss of corporate clients due to Covid. In addition, a family member of the founder was dealing with significant health challenges.

The group has done a great job finding adoptive homes for most of their horses, but they had one that would not be suitable for general adoption due to medical issues. So, we welcomed Gracie to the ranch. We suspect that Gracie, a Clydesdale, has Chronic progressive lymphedema (CPL), a progressive, debilitating disease common in draft horses. While Gracie's case requires on-going care to keep her disease managed and her comfortable.

Gracie is a gentle giant and a favorite among our volunteers.
