This thoroughbred cross was found as a stray in the Tijuana River Valley in August of 2017. He was believed to be about 18 years of age at the time. At some point, he had his right eye surgically removed and a prosthetic implanted.
He is club footed on his left hind. Sadly, when he was abandoned in the Tijuana River Valley, he had known terrible neglect. At the time, he needed to gain a couple hundred pounds.
His sponsor named him Frankie. Initially he lived with another gelding, Elton, who became his best friend. Sadly, we lost Elton on Nov. 14, 2020 is to an intestinal rupture. Not long after that loss, Frankie moved in with the “da boyz,” our gelding corral. He quickly formed friendships with Gulli and Dutch. Now he spends his days getting into mischief with these boys.
