Gila

Gender: Mare

Breed: American Quarter Horse

Approximate Date of Birth: 1/1/1998

Sponsor: Needs a sponsor

Arrival Date:  2018

 Mg 0399

Gila has been with us since 2018.  While she arrived with Doc, but they were not bonded so they have never lived together.  She is one of the softest, gentlest horses at the ranch.  There is no doubt that as a retired brood mare, she is a natural nurturer.

What most people notice about her is her blue roan coloring.  A blue roan has a coat that is a 50/50 mix of white and black hairs in their coat.  Of course, Gila has beautiful red hairs throughout her coat as well.  A blue roan is thought to be the rarest of the roan coloring in horses.
