Veterinary care is critical to the work that we do.
Advancements in veterinary medicine have extended the life expectancy and quality of life for so many horses across the globe. However, these advances do not always ensure that horses stay in their homes.
All too often, horses are abandoned or neglected because they can no longer be ridden. That is where we come in. Our mission is to care for these horses. We believe that they are more than commodities. They are a lifelong commitment and they are deserving of quality care, no matter how “useful” they may seem.
Whether our residents are at our sanctuary due to age or medical conditions, we provide them with safety and love. While horses in our care are not ridden, we are committed to ensure they are physically comfortable. Regular veterinary care is key to ensure that comfort.

We have a standing appointment on Fridays with Dr. Rivett from East County Large and Small Animal Practice (ECLAP). These regular appointments allow us to provide the best possible veterinary care for our herd.
