Missy is a miniature horse and she has been with us since we began rescuing horses in 2003. She is the darling of our herd, but don't let her 38 inches fool you. She rules the herd at Horses of Tir Na Nog. When Missy came to us, she had a lot of trust issues to overcome. However, it was clear to see that under her brash demeanor was a sweet little girl just waiting to come out. Our use of operant conditioning has dramatically increased her confidence and trust. She was the first of our herd to be target trained. This technique has helped dramatically increase her comfort level with groundwork and general handling.

Missy met the love of her life, Shakespeare, in 2009. The two were inseparable. A romance for the ages. On July 5, 2024, the day came when Shakespeare and his beloved Missy could no longer be together. We are blessed that Todd has become good friends with Missy and the two comfort each other.

Missy is suffers Cushing's disease. As a result, she is on a highly specialized diet. In spite of these health issues, Missy is doing well and continues to win fans with her playful antics and adorable good looks.
