Celebrate Horses and Their Heroes

Horses of Tir Na Nog is once again celebrating “Horses and Their Heroes” on April 28 and 29 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. San Diegans are invited to join them for two “Horses and Their Heroes” Open House events. These events are free and family-friendly. This is a special opportunity to meet the horses that call the sanctuary home and to learn about their individual rescue stories. First responders, including CAL FIRE, County of San Diego Department of Animal Services, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, and U.S. Border Patrol have been invited to share the heroic work they do every day. Details are available on our Facebook page.

“First responders play a vital role in local equine welfare. During floods, fires or other natural disasters in the County, Animal Services, CAL FIRE, the Sheriff’s Department, and Border Patrol all respond to aid horses and their owners. These agencies help horses every day in San Diego and we want to celebrate them and the horses they save,” explained Amy Pat Rigney, Administrator of Horses of Tir Na Nog.
